Note to Self:

Appreciation and Gratitude

by | Nov 4, 2021 | Inspiration

When was the last time you thought to yourself “I really appreciate that (name here) did (fill in the blank here). Did you tell them? Friday night as I drove home from the offices of our family run business, I was so grateful. For how hard the team worked with me throughout the week as I sat in the driver’s seat and covered for our office manager’s vacation. P.S. Our office manager is my sister. And boy do I appreciate her!

P.S.S. My husband is the hardest working man I know. And the reason I am able to be the mom I am and chase my wild dreams while simultaneously helping our children chase theirs, is because he works so f’ing hard.

I appreciate my husband. I appreciate our staff. I appreciate our family. I appreciate all that we have and the sacrifices it takes. I started this morning drinking from a mug that reads “cup of gratitude”. I have been practicing witten gratitude in my journal for years. But I know in my heart, it’s not enough to be grateful. You must verbalize that appreciation and gratitude to others.

Just think back to a time when either in response to something specific, or even out the clear blue, someone told you how much they appreciated you. It feels so good. It feeds your soul. Relationships and trust are built on the reciprocal appreciation for others and how important it is that we have the support from others in our lives as we navigate the HARD THINGS and the everyday things.

To be appreciated – one of the greatest emotional needs.
